Copycat Recipe – Paleo Healthy Green Smoothie
Nate and I love Citypoint – an underground food vendor mall in downtown Brooklyn. Whenever we are there, we love washing down our tacos with a cup of green smoothie from Brooklyn Juicer and today’s recipe is inspired by them!

Who wouldn’t want to add more leafy greens to our daily meal? A cup of super refreshing Paleo Green Smoothie seems to fit the bill. The rich fibers from the kale and spinach made the smoothie not only gorgeous looking but also packed with tons of nutrition!
Can you replace smoothie for real meal?
As much as I love smoothie, in my opinion, it’s best to accompany the smoothie with some cooked protein or boiled eggs for a full complete meal. Most smoothies tend to have higher sugar content so take a closer look at what goes into your morning smoothie packet. A smoothie that has high percentage of sweet fruits (for example pineapples, mangoes …etc.) is probably not that great to have too frequently if you want to limit your sugar intake.
So how do I incorporate smoothie to my meals?
People often ask what I eat before and after workout. It really depends on how I feel but in general a cup of iced cold green smoothie made with kale and spinach is my favorite after an intensive training session. Before the workout, I usually have some eggs and definitely pack my Whole30 make ahead breakfast sandwich or my Savory breakfast meatballs in my gym back in case I got hungry.
Can I have smoothie on Whole30?
As a certified Whole30 coach, I can tell you while there’s no official rule saying you can’t have smoothie while doing Whole30, we’d rather you focus on eating whole nutritious real food – fiber, protein, good fat, and low carbohydrates like sweet potatoes. If you find yourself having the tendency to replace meals with smoothies, make an effort to make some food ahead of time so they are ready within reach.

This is a great recipe! I added some avocado for protein, lime juice to cut some of the richness the avocado adds, and cucumber just because I needed to use it and it ended up being a great addition.
Perfect! Love this. Great way to get in all
those nutrients.
That looks amazing. I love that you added chia seeds on top.
Thank you, Haley! I love green smoothie!
