So you walk down the long beautiful aisle filled with white calla lilies………your parents, family and friends look up to you with love and admiration.  Your mom cries with tears of joy. Finally, you’ve made it to the altar and the priest says:

Will you [bone broth] marry this beautiful lady [gummy bear] till death tear you apart?

WAIT Wait wait……………..STOP there for a minute!!   What did you say?

A marriage between Korean bone broth + American gummy bears??

Yes you’ve heard me right. I’m not joking. I had the plan in my mind a while back to conduct a ceremony to marry these two. And this past weekend was the perfect weather in New York to do it!

I will tell you the result of this marriage at the end, but those of you who follow my blog already know my profound love for drinking bone broth.

So in order to continue my fountain of youth in the upcoming hot steamy summer, if you follow my logic, it’s looking more and more reasonable making this marriage happen.

The Ceremony

The original hope was that my Korean Seolleongtang will happily say I DO to this highly recommended American beef gelatin. In reality, it requires a bit of help to make both party happily.

Let me tell you first – It’s not the language barrier, it’s something else……..…..

It took me by surprised that the “unflavored” beef gelatin actually has some subtle flavor. I want to warn you that the gelatin is not completely tasteless despite how it’s advertised. But when you combine the two, it’s a double win – for both protein and collagen. It’s also great for busy people who are always on the go.

The Marriage

So is this marriage a success? Does it work? Even more importantly, does it taste good ??

I’ve decided to use my husband, who’s probably the last person on earth to touch anything with refined sugar, preservatives, or unnatural ingredients unless the zombies are breaking down the door to a Dunkin Donuts and he has precisely ten minutes to live, during which he’ll need a corn-syrup-induced insulin spike to fight them off, and after which death will be swift and certain (yes, really), as my guinea pig.

See the video below for his verdict.

So happy marriage?  Although the bear didn’t make it on-time to the ceremony, the gummy hearts did and Yes! we had a fun time enjoying the treats!
