How to cut  Taiwanese cabbage

ChihYu Smith

Taiwan cabbage is naturally sweet and juicy. Also known as flat cabbage. Let me show you how to cook this cabbage with a simple recipe.

Let’s get started!

Select

01

To pick Taiwan cabbage, it should feel heavy to your hands with no bruises. Remove any damaged outer leaves before slicing.

Cut

02

Using the tip of a chef's knife, slowly and carefully rock the blade to halve, then quarter the cabbage.

Remove core

03

Cut out the cores from the quartered cabbages at a 45-degree angle. Repeat the process to slice away all the cores.

Dice

04

Slice the cabbage quarters into 2-3 inch lengths for bite-sized pieces. Rinse and pat them dry. Saute with oil and salt to taste.
