How to make wonton wrappers gluten-free

Gluten-free wonton wrappers with rice flour, starch, water, and salt. These gf wonton wrappers are thin. Use for wontons, dumplings, or gyoza!

Let’s get started!

Starch and Flour


In a saucepan, dissolve salt, water, and starch. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the liquid starts to thicken.

Knead the Dough


Combine with rice flour and oil and knead the dough for 5-6 minutes until smooth. Cover the it tightly and rest for 20 minutes.

Roll Out Dough


Roll the dough into a 14-inch rectangle roughly 2 mm thick, sprinkling with more flour if it gets sticky. Handle it gently to avoid tearing.

Cut Wrappers


Cut the dough lengthwise in half. Stack the rectangles and cut 3-inch wide strips. Stack the strips, then cut into 3-inch squares.
