Cantonese style crispy chow mein

Cantonese chow mein with pan fried crispy egg noodles, tossed in a rich and savory chow mein sauce. A great Canton crispy noodle side dish.

Let’s get started!

Chow mein sauce


Combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar in a bowl. Dice garlic, onion, and prepare sliced chicken and shrimp, if using.

Chow mein preparation


Cook according to the package directions, removing them when they’re still al dente. Drain them and set aside to cool.

Saute aromatics


Pan-fry the noodles until crispy, flipping as needed to brown all sides. Transfer out. Add aromatics, bean sprouts, and garlic chive.

Add sauce


Drizzle the sauce in slowly, stirring well to coat. Be sure to fully coat the stir fry for maximum flavor. Serve hot.
